Horizontal Windlasses

A horizontal anchor windlass offers easier installation and access for service over vertical windlasses. Horizontal anchor windlasses are situated entirely on-deck limiting the number of holes needed for mounting.

Anchor retrieval with a horizontal windlass usually requires a minimum of 8" of fall inside the chain locker and work well with small or odd shaped chain lockers. As anchor rodes enter the gypsy they make a 90° turn and feed directly into the chain locker. All Maxwell and Quick horizontal anchor windlasses are 12V and have a 3 year warranty.

The Maxwell HRC series is the horizontal version of the Freedom series of vertical anchor windlasses. Both of the compact HRC6 and HRC8 incorporate the technology that has made Maxwell a leader in the boating industry.
