Kasco boat de-icers are available in 1/2, 3/4 and 1 HP models. The larger units are available with an optional 220 volt motor. When suspended at an angle, whether you are using the suspension lines, or the optional Dock Mount kit or Float Mount kit, your boat de-icer will form an elliptical pattern of ice clearance. When it is mounted vertically, it will produce a roughly round area of cleared ice. These units work by drawing warmer water from the depths of the water body, and circulating it to the surface. Because of this, there are a number of factors that will impact the effectiveness of the de-icer. If the body of water is fairly shallow with consistent water temperatures, or there are obstructions that impede water flow, the de-icing will be less effective. Outside weather conditions may also increase or decrease the potential for freezing under any given set of circumstances.

Motor - Custom designed, continous duty 120V single phase, oil immersed and overload protected with fully automatic reset. Motor exceeds NEMA Specifications.

Capacitor - Permanent split capacitor (PSC) insures quick high torque starts and smooth operation.
