Power House Ice Eater Specifications
The Ice Eater line of marina or dock de-icers by Power House are designed to operate in fresh or salt water environments, drawing warmer water from the depths to warm the water at the surface. Hanging the Ice Eater De-icer vertically will produce a round opening with the size depending on the depth, power of the de-icer unit and water temperature. Angling the Ice Eater unit will produce an elongated oval of open water.
In addition to de-icing docks, piers and other waterside features, Ice Eaters can be used the rest of the year to improve the flow of stagnant water in and around docks and marinas, and can be used to set up currents that will help keep weeds and debris from drifting in.

All Ice Eater de-icer models include the following:
- 16 gauge 304 stainless steel de-icer motor housing with a bronze end bell for corrosion free operation in fresh or salt water. Motor exceeds NEMA specifications and us UL and CSA compliant and C.E. Certified.

316 stainless steel motor shaft.

Internal hard faced mechanical seal with stainless components immersed in dielectric lubricating fluid (Non-toxic formulation). An additional double lip shaft seal provides extra protection.

Permanent split capacitor to ensure quick high torque and smooth operation while producing the highest efficiency of a single phase induction motor.

Stator motor windings have double impregnation of baked insulating varnish.

Two heavy duty ball bearings provide support for the rotor.

Ice Eaters come standard with 25 feet of 16/3 water and oil resistant cord with a three prong molded plug, cords in 50 and 100 foot lengths are available .

Heavy duty PVC custom brackets attach the de-icer motor to the shroud. All stainless bolts and locking aircraft nuts are used.

Custom designed propeller offers maximum thrust and performance. Prop screws onto shaft for easy removal and replacement.

Sacrificial zinc protects Ice Eater de-icer from electrolysis damage.

Each Ice Eater is performance certified tested for proper output and leaks before shipment.

Ice Eater de-icers are standard single phase in 115 or 230 volts. You can be special ordered an Ice Eater de-icer in a 3 phase power versions. Please contact us for pricing and availability if you have a 3 phase power application.
