Additional Information on Ice Eater Accessories
Ice Eater Thermostat KP16110 - This new thermostat for the Ice Eater De-icer is designed with a plug and receptacle for in-line use. When air temperature drops below your set temperature,the KP16110 will turn your Power House de-icer on. It will shut your Ice Eater down again when temperatures rise and it is no longer needed. The KP16110 thermostat controls your Ice Eater de-icer in either fresh water or salt water environments. Improve your energy efficiency by using your Ice Eater de-icer only when you need it. Note: This thermostat is designed for use with a 115V Ice Eater De-Icer only.

Ice Eater Protective Screen Kits- Ice eater protective screen fit over either the intake or output end of Ice Eater De-icer shroud. If your area has lots of woody debris, this screen will help protect from pulling it into your Ice eater and damaging the prop or unit. Normally this will be installed on the intake end, but for optimal protection, add a screen to both the intake and output of your de-icer. If your area has lots of soft weed debris, the screen may cause this material to accumulate at the intake impairing the operation of your unit. Kit SCA-100A if designed for the larger P750 and P1000 Ice Eaters. Kit SCA-100B is designed for the P500 Ice Eaters. Each kit contains 1 screen and the hardware to mount it to your Ice Eater de-icer.
Ice Eater Zinc - This sacrificial zinc helps protect the metal portions of your Ice Eater de-icer from degradation by electrolysis. You'll need to periodically inspect the zinc on your Ice Eater and replace it when it shows signs of deterioration. The zinc anode is more reactive than the stainless steel that is used for the Ice Eater de-icer shaft and motor housing, so galvanic reactions are focused on the zinc material.
Ice Eater Electrolysis Kit - Under most circumstances, the Ice Eater Zinc will be sufficient to protect your Ice eater form electrolysis damage, however if you operate in areas with extreme electrolysis activity, this kit will step up the protection. It includes a zinc band and another sacrificial zinc for maximum protection. |
